South Fork Dirt Riders was founded in 2000 by Leroy and Terry Harris, with the help of their four children. Longtime business owners with a passion for entertainment, Leroy and Terry are well known in Central Illinois for bringing major acts to the area through their venues Nashville North in Taylorville — which hosted country legends like George Strait, Loretta Lynn, and Reba McEntire — and Okaw Valley, a campground and outdoor music amphitheater in Shelbyville.
When they launched South Fork Dirt Riders, motocross quickly became the heart of the operation. Over the years, the facility expanded to include trail riding, mud events, camping, and music festivals, evolving to meet the interests of a broader outdoor community. In 2020, Leroy and Terry retired, passing the torch to the next generation. Today, South Fork is proudly family-operated, with the Harris family continuing the legacy of creating a fun, welcoming space for riders, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds.
